The Professional Tanning Studios at Ashford, Camberley, & Sunninghill offer a selection of the best products on the market - Fake Bake, California Tan & the NEW 'celebrity' favorite Xen Tan. A spray tan is suitable for all ages from about 10 upwards. The cost varies from £20 - £40 depending on the product and application method chosen. We offer California Tan which is the least expensive of the solutions available. It offers a natural golden colour. Fake Bake is a darker solution and Xen Tan falls somewhere between the two and has no after-tan odour. PLEASE NOTE - not all products or application methods are available at all salons. Please read below. AUTOMATED SPRAY BOOTH - advance booking not necessary but recommended. Available at - Camberley, Sunninghill & Ashford Treatment time - 10 mins apx Product choice - California Tan, Fake Bake, Xen Tan The automated booth is generally the most popular choice and is ideal for those of you that prefer not to stand naked in front of a therapist. Again prior to this treatment you should prepare your skin by exfoliating and removing any unwanted hair. Your body should be free of make up, moisturizer, and deodorant. You may wear an old set of underwear or bikini. We provide a towel, hairnet & barrier cream. Disposable soles may be purchased for 50p extra and prevent unwanted tanning of the sole of the feet. We suggest that you bring an old set of loose clothing to change into after the treatment. PLEASE NOTE - as with anything unfamiliar it's perfectly normal to feel a little nervous on your first occasion. Whilst the automated spray booth is marketed as flawless, in reality mistakes do occur, usually as a result of poor preparation, dry skin, not standing in the correct position or not adhering to post tan instructions. Also not everyone is suited to cosmetic tanning. If you are having the spray tan for an important occasion we highly recommend that you have a trial run to perfect the technique or assess your suitability to this method of tanning. THE SPRAY BOOTH With over 10,000 installations worldwide the Mystic Tan spray booth is the most popular and sophisticated on the market. The difference between the Mystic booth and other systems on the market is MagneTan technology. This patented system ensures even coverage of the solution which gives a natural all over tan that develops within 2 -3 hours. As the solution passes through the nozzles, the particles of solution are polarized, taking on the characteristic of tiny magnets. MagneTan technology then uses the body's own magnetic properties to attract the solution particles to the skin. The result is a perfectly-uniform, natural-looking tan! WHY HAVE A SPRAY TAN? Spray tan is a convenient way of looking tanned in a short space of time. Compared to sunbathing or using a sunbed a spray tan will begin to develop within 6 hours and as long as you have followed the guidelines you should look your most tanned within 24 hrs. The tan will then gradually fade over the next 4/5 days, depending on your lifestyle. Clients often choose a spray tan prior to going on holiday but it should be noted that it will not offer protection from sunburn. PREPARING FOR A SPRAY TAN For the best results it is recommended that you fully exfoliate the day before your spray, also complete any hair removal ie: waxing or shaving. Do not moisturize on the day of the spray and ensure you are not wearing any make up, perfume etc. Arrive at the salon with time to spare on your first occasion. You should not attempt to have a spray if you are in a rush or flustered. We suggest you wear loose dark clothing and definitely no tight fitting underwear. AT THE SALON Our salon assistant will accompany you in to the private room of the spray booth and will spend a few minutes with you to demonstrate the preparation procedure which involves the application of barrier cream to your palms and nails, the standing position that you should adopt whilst in the booth and what to do immediately after your spray. Barrier cream, hairnet and towels are provided. At your leisure you will then be left to prepare as instructed before stepping into the booth whereupon you should adopt the standing position facing the nozzles on the magnetized platform before pushing the illuminated button to start the spraying process. The machine counts down for 5 seconds, allowing you time to compose yourself, inhale and hold your breath. Then with a short burst of compressed air the session begins with a fine mist of solution being sprayed through the patented MagneTan nozzles. When you hear the spraying stop you simply turn around so that your back faces the nozzles and adopt the position with your hands facing away from you. The second cycle will begin automatically and lasts a further 8-12 secs. When the spraying stops the session is over. Step immediately from the booth and using the towel provided pat yourself dry paying particular attention to the back of your legs. You may then get dressed. This whole process should take the average person no longer than 15 minutes. Upon leaving the salon it is important to allow at least 6 hours for the tan to develop. Under no circumstances should you swim, shower or exercise. Any perspiration will block the pores and the tan won't develop properly. One of the biggest challenges for sunless tanners is trying to keep the color from fading. A comprehensive range of retail products are available from all salons.
